2010 Member Directory & Community Guide
The 2010 Member Directory & Community Guide will promote the Rome community with specific emphasis on encouraging readers to do business with Chamber members. As you know, we have an aggressive Shop Rome First retail promotion each year to encourage shoppers to do business locally — it helps the economy and keeps sales tax money here. The directory portion is more of a "Shop Rome Chamber Members First" publication. This will truly be a local publication. The layout, design, and contents will be produced by a local firm and all ads will be sold by Chamber volunteers and staff. All 2,500 copies will be printed in Oneida County. We believe this is very important and certainly worth noting because the Chamber's mission is to boost the local economy and to give our members the first opportunity to benefit from Chamber efforts. Throughout the year, these books will be included in newcomer packets as they are particularly useful in showcasing the quality of life offered in Rome and the surrounding communities. More importantly, we hope members see the books as valuable business tools that provide convenient access to products and services offered by fellow members.
Check out the 2009 Guide.
Reserve your advertising space by submitting the 2010 Advertising Form or contact the Chamber at 337-1700 for more information.

Did you hear what they’re saying about Rome?
Country Home Magazine Study Ranks Most Eco-Friendly Cities and Towns and Utica-Rome ranks in the top 25. For details, see complete study.
According to Bert Sperling’s “Cities Ranked & Rated: Your Guide to the Best Places to Live in the U.S. and Canada,” the Utica-Rome region is one of the least-stressed mid-sized metropolitan statistical areas in America. Only two other places were ranked less stressful places to live.
The March 2004 edition of Inc. magazine ranks the Utica-Rome area one of the “Top 25 Small Cities for Doing Business in America” based on affordability, and the current and historical job growth as the most objective indicator of a region’s economic vitality for entrepreneurs.
Also, Rome has received the consecutive honor of being named Tree City USA.
In 2005, Rome was voted as the 19th Most Secure City by Farmers Insurance Group, and the 7th Best Golf City in America by Golf Digest.
In 2002, Rome was included in the Mohawk Valley region's designation as an All America City Finalist, and was also named a New York State Quality Community.
